This past year has been one for the books for sure. I think we can all agree to that. Pandemic. Death. Racism. Police Brutality. Unemployment. Worldly Fires. Plagues. I am sure the list can go on. When the pandemic started, I recall myself saying, "This is what the world needed. We needed to be still. We needed to slow down. We all needed this. The reminder of what is most important, and who is in control."
Many of us had grand plans for 2020. The motto of 2020 itself just made sense, right? "20/20 VISION!" Oh my, we did not see this coming. We have now deemed 2020 the worst possible year ever. I personally decided to make the best of this time. I tapped into many things; reading, fitness, family, self, spirit, and much more.
One day, I was listening, watching or reading something. And in that moment is when it hit me. What if we had it all wrong. Oftentimes, let's be honest, we get it wrong. In that moment the moment shifted; from 20/20 Vision to 20/20 Perception.
The shift is important, and differences from change. Let that sink in. This has been one of the most, if not the most whirlwind years many of us have witnessed. Our lives have been turned upside down, in some way. I challenge you to shift with for a moment. Shift from vision to perception.
Allow your vision to remain. Shift and focus on your perception. Ask yourself, is it a whirlwind or a takeoff? The two can co-exist pending on the view in which you perceive.
Adversity to one, is a triumph and testimony to another. Know that God does not place you in whirlwinds, He prepares you for takeoffs. It is all about your view and perception.
